Here are some common questions about our products.

Getting
Started

I want a "Full-Custom" Heelboard, how do I get started?

Once you have placed an order it will trigger the process. A representative will contact you to start gaining information about your design.

If you already have images, pictures, sketches, you can send them to info@topdownproducts.com, be sure to include your order number, and we can get a jumpstart on the process.

If you were unsure of the ability to create your design prior to ordering you can also reach out to us at info@topdownproducts.com to get our feedback on viability.

Once the design process starts you will be integral to the design process and working closely with the designer to establish the content for your custom heal board.

Prior to any fabrication you will be provided a computer rendering of the proposed design that would allow you to get a visual representation of what your heel board will look like. Once we receive your approval, the design is locked, and we move forward with the fabrication process.

How long does it take to get a "Full-Custom" Heelboard?

Time is based on final approval of the design. We can spend as much time as needed in the design phase until you are happy with the design. Once the design is locked and we start the fabrication process, typical time will be around 6-8 Weeks. We strive for less, but there are aspect that we have to outsource and do not have control over lead times.

Product Fitment

I want Axle Covers for my Breakout, but I'm unsure what Kit I need?

No surprise here, Harley does not make it easy with model design changes.

Up to 2017

For model years “Up to 2017” the Front Kit would be our “Universal” Kit and the Rear Kit would be our special “Breakout” Kit due to the hollow axle configuration.

2018-Present

For model years 2018 to Present the Kit would be our “Hollow” Kit due to the hollow axle configuration and the Rear Kit would be our “Universal” Kit.

I want to get a Roto-Plate, but I'm unsure what Kit to get?

No doubt this can be confusing. There are only three primary nut configurations and they are represented by the thread type.

5/8 Thread

5/8″ is basically all early model HD’s prior to 2008-ish (Harley does not have a clear cut off for all models). This would be appropriate for early Softail, Dyna and Sportster models.

24mm

24mm is common for Harley models from 2008 to present, with the exception of the Rocker, Breakout (2018-Present) and CVO models. This would be appropriate for Late model Softail, Dyna, Sportster.

24mm Fine

24mm Fine is a unique thread configuration, and will only be found on the Rocker and Breakout Up to 2017. It’s important to note, in 2018 to Present, Harley changed the axle configuration to the 24mm Softail design.

These are the stock axle nuts for a visual reference.

Round  Swing Arm Clamp

The Round Swing Arm clamp can be used on any tubular part of the bike in a range of 15/16″-1 1/8″ in diameter.

“True-Fit” Swing Arm Clamp

The “True-Fit” Swing Arm Clamp can be use on the Rocker and Breakout Up to 2017, as it has an elliptical shape to mimic the shape of the swing arm tube.

Lower Shock

The Lower Shock is simply the Roto-Plate without a Kit. It will require an extended Lower Shock bolt 3/4″ longer than the stock bolt. We do not provide the extended bolt and will need to be sourced by you.
